Benefits to Having a Personal Injury Lawyer
A personal injury lawyer represents the
claim for the impairment of any physical or emotional loss. This lawyer is a
legal representative with all the knowledge about rules and regulations. That’s
why personal injury lawyers help as much as possible for the preservation of
law for a common person.
Factually, the personal injury lawyer
reports daily life damages such as car crashes, physical injury from an
accident or office injuries. Traffic collision and claiming about the injury is
the most common case we can see in such lawyer’s life.
Many times, they are also legal advisors
for people who require justice meanwhile we can see these representatives
practicing under jurisdiction. For this reason, the injury lawyers first need
Legal education and also require to pass ethics papers.
Same as this, personal injury lawyers are
also involved in hospital cases for wrong treatments. That’s why they are an
important part of the team while making medical consent for complicated
treatments and surgeries.
So, it is better to hire a personal injury
lawyer who not only represents you, but also supports a lot in getting justice.
More benefits include;
Your lawyer will calculate the right
When it comes to personal injury cases, a
lot goes into determining the value of the claim. A layperson without legal
training or experience cannot arrive at the right amount to claim. Your lawyer
will consider the present and future medical expenses, your loss of income, and
your mental and emotional distress too when valuing your claim.
If your brain injury has caused permanent
disability, your lawyer will factor the long-term treatment and loss of income
into the compensation amount. Any therapy or treatment that you will need in
the present or the future will incur costs and as such will be added into your
claim value. These are just a few examples. An experienced personal injury
lawyer will study your medical reports and the case from all angles before
determining the compensation.
Jurisdiction plays a crucial role when it
comes to personal injury cases and claims. Each state has its own laws related
to such cases. So, it is important to hire a local lawyer with experience in
handling all kinds of personal injury cases. You can search online for personal
injury lawyers in your area to know more about them. For instance, use the
keyword personal injury lawyers in Dallas to find the websites of leading
attorneys in your area. Check them out to know more about the lawyers.
Attorneys Understand the Legal Process
The average person is also fairly
unfamiliar with the legal procedures surrounding a personal injury claim. Your
attorneys, on the other hand, handle these types of claims every single day.
They know which legal documents to file and when, how to properly complete
forms, and what the applicable statutes of limitations are. They also know just
how the insurance companies try to one-up you on legal technicalities, and
they’ll be there to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of. If you attempt
to handle the insurance company on your own, there’s a very good chance you
could miss out on thousands of dollars from your insurance settlement.
Your Attorney Can Handle all the Dirty Work
Waging a battle against the insurance
company is often an uphill one. Undertaking such a battle on your own is akin
to showing up to a duel with no weapons. The truth is, the insurance companies
will see you coming from a mile away if you’re alone. They know they have more
clout than you in terms of knowledge of the process and bargaining power. In
turn, they won’t hesitate to use this against you, handing over the lower
settlement possible hoping you’ll take it and go away. Your personal injury
attorneys also know this. They will be your weapon: the weapon of knowledge.
Let them increase your chances of getting the highest settlement possible.
An Attorney Improves Your Odds
Going against the insurance company is like
preparing for battle. Undertaking such a
battle by yourself is tantamount to showing up to fight with no weapons. No matter how much you prepare yourself, you
just won’t be able to put up a strong fight or put your best foot forward. The
insurance company knows that it has far more knowledge and bargaining power and
will use this to ensure that you get the lowest settlement possible. They will
use your unfamiliarity with the claim process to ensure that their interests
are protected. The best weapon that you
can garner for yourself is a skilled personal injury attorney who can increase
your chances of obtaining a high insurance settlement.
An Attorney Is Motivated to Help You
Most personal injury lawyers work on a
contingency basis. This means they will
only get paid if you get an insurance settlement. This is incredibly beneficial to you since
you have someone who has experience working against insurance companies,
motivated to help you get the highest settlement possible. In addition, since a personal injury attorney
does not get paid unless you do, he will be more prone to settle your claim
quickly. This is why most personal
injury attorneys tend to choose cases they think they can win.
A Personal Injury Lawyer Will Go To Court.
Insurance coverage insurance adjusters
recognize that if a case goes to court, the insurance company could be forced
to pay a whole lot a lot more that they intend to pay. The adjusters likewise
know that if you are representing yourself, it will be difficult for you to go
to court. They recognize that a personal injury attorney will litigate. For
that reason, the insurers need to be a lot more practical in what they use you
as settlement for your injuries.
Personal Injury Lawyers Usually Boost The
Worth Of A Situation.
Generally for every one of the factors
mentioned over, insurance insurers will certainly supply more compensation when
a lawyer is representing you. Some people will inform you that the raised
compensation quantity is countered by needing to pay a lawyer. So you wind up
with the same amount ultimately. Often that holds true, however in a lot of
cases, due to his/her knowledge and also experience, a personal injury lawyer
will recoup ample for your personal injury asserts to counter the attorney fee.
Cast Iron Pipes: What You Can Expect in
Shortly after I purchased my first home
here in, I was pretty naive as to what owning an older home can mean and what
to expect. I planned and budgeted oh so carefully for the items my inspector
had red-flagged and all the small cosmetic renovations I planned on making.
After only two weeks into the renovation process, I received a phone call from
the electrician I had hired. “Did you know you have mushrooms growing under
your house?” he said. Turns out, I had a leak in the main sewer line which had
contaminated the dirt under the house in the crawl space. After running through
my inspection papers with a fine-toothed comb, I verified that there was no
mention of any plumbing red flags and that plumbing isn’t typically covered in
a home inspection beyond running faucets and flushing toilets. In hindsight, I
should have done my homework on what to expect from the old pipes found in
these beautiful, vintage homes.
One of the most common problems is the aging
cast iron pipe that was used in construction until about 1980, when PVC was
introduced to residential building. According to a 2012 Water Infrastructure
and Sustainability fact sheet by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the
average age of a broken water main in the U.S. is 47 years. Unfortunately for
us, this means most of our homes’ pipes are on the tail end of their life
expectancy. This especially affects the main sewer line and pipes coming from
your bathrooms and kitchens. These pipes are subject to a much faster corrosive
process than the pipes carrying just drinking water, which is what is used to
fill bathtubs and sinks.
How old are your pipes?”
Let’s face it, our pipes are old. It’s
likely your pipes are original and thus as old as the year your house was
built. If you’re unsure, find out when your house was built and if there have
been any plumbing replacements or repairs since you moved in.“ Knowing the age
of your pipes will help you to assess their need for repair.”
Do you have mature trees near your water
One of the many draws to the old
neighborhoods of Vegas is the mature trees and established landscaping that
provide shade from the hot sun. These roots systems, however, may have spread
into the plumbing lines beneath our houses. If you do have mature trees and
plants located close to your house, do some quick research on their root
systems and determine if your pipes have been endangered.
Do you have clay soil?”
The most common types of soil in Las Vegas
are clay, sand and hard rock caliche. “According to NACE International, the
world’s leading professional organization for the corrosion control industry,
sandy soils are among the least corrosive, and clay soils are among the most
severely corrosive.” There’s nothing we can do about this one, folks. Look for
warning signs mentioned below and plan ahead.
Preventative Maintenance Tips for Your
What do you do when you have faucet leaks,
broken pipes, clogged toilets, and water heater running cold? Wouldn’t you prefer to avoid these plumbing
problems? Understanding the problems and
performing preventative maintenance can help you avoid plumbing problems. The first step for preventative maintenance
involves understanding everything that is included in your water system. These are everything that uses water in your
home, such as the sinks in your bathroom, kitchen and laundry/utility room,
your appliances such as the refrigerator, garbage disposal and washing machine,
toilets, showers, and your water heater.
All of these can be maintained to prevent plumbing problems from getting
out of hand.
Here are some preventative maintenance tips
you can use:
Fix leaking faucets and showerheads. Dripping faucets can waste a lot of water and
that can add to your bill. And if you
don’t fix a dripping faucet or showerhead, the drip can get worse over
time. Those problems can cause water
damage. To prevent problems, check your
facets regularly for leaks and make repairs as needed. Check the handles to make sure no water drips
when the handles are turned to the off position and check underneath the sinks
for water stains or drips when the water is running.
Unclog slow drains. When the water is slow to drain there may be
a problem. Before it gets out of hand,
use a homemade mixture of vinegar and hot water to flush down the drain and
unclog any debris. This preventative
maintenance tip can be done every few months and will get the drain flowing
Check all exposed pipes and appliances for
water leaks. Your disposal, refrigerator, or water heater can be the source of
a leak. Look at any manufacturer’s
requirements for maintaining your appliances.
Watch for visible signs of a leak such as water stains on walls and
ceilings, or puddles of water. Also be
wary of mildew. Installing a drip tray
underneath your water heater and washing machine can help limit damage if a
leak were to occur.
Fix leaking toilets. Sometimes a faulty seal around the valve seat
can cause your toilet to run even when it is not flushed. Over time, gunk will
form around the valve seat and flapper. This gunk will prevent the flapper to
seal properly, which will cause the water to continue to run. Another problem could be with the handle or
tank stopper. The repair that is needed
is often quick and inexpensive maintenance.
Be careful what you flush or pour down the
drain! The problem with drains and
toilets is that so many things can get flushed down them. The easiest way to prevent problems with your
pipes is to be careful what you flush or pour down them to begin with. Don’t flush anything other than toilet paper
and human waste down the toilet. Don’t
pour anything that can be reactive down the drain.
Check the water pressure. Water pressure is how much force is coming
out of your faucets and shower heads.
You can test the water pressure on your system with a pressure gauge to
make sure it is at a safe level. One
other preventative measure is to add a pressure regulator to maintain your
water pressure at a safe level.
Remove and clean your shower head of any
sediment that may have accumulated. This
can improve the water pressure of your shower head.
Drain your water heater to remove sediment
annually to semi-annually. Over time your water heater can get sediment in it
and become less effective.
Look inside the burner chamber of your
water heater. You shouldn’t see any flakes of rust inside of the chamber. And
verify the flame of the water heater is a blue color with no signs of yellow in
the flame. If you see a yellow color, this may mean that the jets need to be
Check the hoses for signs of cracks,
brittleness, or leaking. Replace your hoses as needed.
If you have a septic tank, you should have
it regularly inspected. Add pumping your
septic tank to your list as an important part of maintenance.
If you have a sewer system, it is good to
understand how your lines run and inspect for tree roots that could potentially
damage your sewer lines. A preventative
measure would be to have your sewer lines snaked periodically to avoid clogging.
Performing preventative maintenance for
your plumbing can help you avoid a major plumbing problem. Sometimes you may need a repair after
checking items to keep them maintained.
Although some repairs can be do-it-yourself, others may require more
When Should I Consider Pipe Relining?
Perhaps the worst home maintenance project
is repairing pipes. When you are having trouble with plumbing, your first
instinct might be to replace the pipes. You are not wrong; replacing pipelines
is a traditional way to remedy plumbing issues. This way, you will replace a
faulty pipeline just like replacing faulty light bulbs. But, unlike replacing
light bulbs, replacing damaged pipes is an expensive and burdensome process.
It’s a good thing that there is a better way to repair damaged pipes, an easier
and cheaper way to repair, and that is pipe relining.
Are broken pipes a persistent problem in
Damaged pipes are a quite common home
problem that need immediate attention. This is where pipe relining comes in.
From small, persistent leaks, to instant pipe bursts, there are many instances
when pipe relining will be useful. Below is a list of common pipe problems. If
you experienced any of these, it might be time to consider pipe relining.
· Burst pipes
It is only natural for solid and oily
materials to be a part of your waste. However, they can increase the pressure
of your entire plumbing when left unmaintained. This increase in pressure
expands the pipes until they burst. To help you monitor your pipes, call your
trusted Newcastle plumber the moment you suspect a clogged drainage.
· Changes in temperature
Taking a cold shower in an extremely hot
day may be satisfying, but not for your plumbing. Sudden extreme changes in
temperatures such as running cold water along your warm pipelines can damage
your plumbing. The rapid expansion and contraction of the pipes causes them to
· Root intrusions
Pipelines naturally attract roots. They are
an abundant source of water and nutrients for the plants. So when there is a
leak, roots seep into the pipe and can clog your plumbing. Repairing these
damaged pipes can be costly. It also involves the process of unblocking and
making sure that the roots will not intrude after the repair.
· Deterioration and rust
Steel pipes are likely to rust. Being
exposed to moisture and other oxidating agents, this is practically inevitable.
Rusting weakens the structural integrity of your pipes, which often leads to
leakage. Likewise, the natural wear and tear of materials as they age over time
helps degrade the quality of these materials. Not to mention that the harsh
substances and elements that run through these pipes shortens their lifespan. A
routine inspection, maintenance, and repair from your trusted plumbing service
will save you from further trouble.
· Poor plumbing and maintenance
Seeking help from under-experienced or
incompetent plumbers, or even fixing the plumbing on your own, can also lead to
broken pipes. This may be because of a variety of reasons, such as an
overlooked clog, or joints that are not screwed in well. Make sure that you
hire competent and expert plumbers capable of maintaining your plumbing. In
order to fix these common plumbing problems, we need to understand how they are
damaged so that we can also try to prevent damage before they even happen.
Moreover, leakage of waste water is harmful for your health. That is why we
need a fast and immediate solution to these problems.
What is pipe relining?
Pipe relining is a relatively modern,
non-invasive maintenance procedure to repair existing pipelines. After a
thorough investigation of the site and the plumbing, the damage and
obstructions along your pipeline will be identified. Then, these obstructions
will be removed.
Broken Pipe Repair
A broken pipe always catches the homeowner
or business owner off guard. There are many things that can cause a pipe to
leak or burst, however one thing is always constant and that is the stress it
will cause you when you notice water seeping from your ceiling, slab leak or
puddling in your yard. At times you will not notice any excess water, rather a
spike in your monthly water bill. This is always a good indication you have a
leak somewhere that you need an Emergency Plumber to address.
Signs of a Broken Pipe:
Low Water Pressure
Spike in Monthly Water Bill
If any of these symptoms are occurring,
your first step should be to turn off your main water valve
Common Plumbing Issues and How To Fix Them
Plumbing issues are often the most
stressful. We can’t just ignore them, and in many cases, we can’t just fix them
quickly and easily on their own. But if
you have a basic understanding of common issues (like plumbing backups, clogged
sewers, a clogged drain line, or leaking pipes) then you can more effectively
communicate with your plumber about the problem and have a better understanding
of the kinds of repairs needed.
This common problem strikes when we least
expect it: we fill the sink, clean whatever needs cleaning, and the next thing
you know, we have a sink full of filthy water that doesn’t seem to want to go
anywhere. The reason this problem is more regular than others is that we don’t
really pay attention to what we put down that drain. There are a few common
items that can end up in a drain, depending on the location of the fixture.
Much like the clogged sink, only worse. A
toilet can clog under the best of circumstances, and usually under the worst
conditions. A clogged toilet is a much more difficult beast to tackle than a
clogged sink because all the drainage is either in or underneath the toilet
itself. These clogs are usually caused by a combination of human and paper
waste (unless something has been physically dropped in there).
You know that sound your toilet makes after
you flush it? That’s the sound of water filling back into the tank after use.
You should only hear that sound right after you flush, and only for a few
seconds. If your toilet continues to fill, or fills at regular intervals, then
you run the risk of a massive water bill at the end of the month
Dripping or Running Faucets
When talking about dripping or running
faucets, let’s break it up into different potential problems.
A tidy, well-kept house is always pest
free, right? Not necessarily. Pests can be attracted to homes for various
reasons, many of which have nothing to do with cleanliness. Some common home
invaders make it very obvious that they are there, while generations of others
may hide away without a peep. There are many reasons why regular pest control
is necessary for every home owner to consider.
“Do-it-Yourself” Isn’t Always
Many do-it-yourself treatments appear to
get the job done, when in reality they only attack the tip of the iceberg. Most
store-bought and home remedies are only capable of taking care of what you see
on the surface. More often than not, the source of your infestation is hidden
away. That’s why it is important to contact a pest control professional at the
first sign of a home invasion. Trained to stop an infestation at its source,
the professionals here at American Pest know just what to look for, and how to
get rid of it for good.
Pests Pose Real Health Threats
Public health officials attribute our
current, clean quality of living to three very important variables: top-notch
vaccines and medications, vastly improved sanitation, and high-quality pest
control. Some of the most common pests, such as rodents, ticks, and mosquitoes,
are capable of transferring terrible diseases. Mice and rats can carry
Hantavirus, which can be fatal if passed on to a human. Ticks carry Lyme
disease, which comes with flu-like symptoms. Mosquitoes are capable of carrying
a host of different illnesses, from the West Nile Virus to Zika. It is
impossible to know if a pest is carrying a disease or not, which is why it is
best to err on the side of caution.
Damage to Property and Belongings
Many home-invading pests find their way
into your home in the first place because they have found a source of food.
Wood-faring bugs, such as termites and carpenter ants, are capable of tearing
your home apart. They hide within the walls, so they often cause a lot of
damage before anyone even notices they are there. Other pests, such as carpet
beetles and silverfish, are attracted to organic fibers, and therefore love to
munch on your belongings. Couches, clothing, blankets, and towels are just some
of the items at risk for damage. Our pest control professionals are trained to
survey the area in and around your home, to keep pests that you might not even
be aware of under control.
Keep Food Safe & Healthy
Pest control is necessary in both
residential and commercial settings, especially when it comes to food. Businesses
in the food service industry often deal with scrap-eating pests, such as
cockroaches and rodents. In homes, pests such as odorous house ants and
indianmeal moths will find their way into your pantry, and make a meal out of
your favorite snacks. Further still, many pests, such as aphids, can stop the
proper growth of fruits and vegetables in your garden. Many of the
aforementioned pests carry diseases, or at the very least will contaminate your
food by living in it. The easiest way to keep your food safe from pests is to
contact your local pest control provider.
One thing is for certain; a pest free home
is a happy home. Even the sign of the tiniest unwanted creature can cause a
huge headache. Our most basic pest control plan includes year-round bi-monthly
inspections, and both indoor and outdoor treatments to stop any and all pests.
Just give us a call, and we’ll handle the rest.
Reasons Why to Consider Pest Control
Pest control is crucial to retain your home
from unwanted intruders. Your home is not a place for the bugs, termites, and
rodents to live but it’s your place to live safely. Sometimes due to some
alternative way pests get the chance to invade in your house, causing multiple
There are many techniques to remove pest

why to consider pest control services;

undiscovered in home repairs then it can cost you hundreds of dollars. You may
not know how to accurately supervise for termites and may not know the signs of
carpenter ants. It is advisable for you to take the pest control service to

Always, you don’t do any trial and error
methods to eliminate the pests from your house, as it might result in serious
issues. When you ineffectively handle the pests, then they will regroup and
come back to your home leading to the worst damage ever as before. But when you

Water Damage To Tile Flooring – How It Can
Floor Tiles Get Loose After Water Damage
One of the main issues that water damage
causes to your tile flooring is that it can make it loosen up over time. That’s
because the adhesive that’s holding your tiles into position will slowly be
deteriorated by the presence of excess moisture. When you’re trying to use
proper tile care, one of the first things that you should do is make sure that
water isn’t allowed to pool on top of your tiles for very long. Wipe up spills
and messes before water has the time to seep down below your tiles and do
damage to the subfloor and the tile itself
If you notice that tiles in your home are
beginning to loosen up and stop sticking to the floor like they are supposed
to, this is often a clear sign that you have water damage that you don’t know

something like flooding, or a burst pipe that you already cared for, you can
skip this step. However, if you aren’t sure what’s causing the water damage you
need to get a pro into your home to locate the source of the damage.
After you go through the trouble of
stopping the water leak, you can move on to repairing any damage that was done
by the water. If you have tiles that are suffering from the damage, chances are
good other surfaces are also damaged. It’s time for you to remove any damaged
tiles so that you can look at everything else underneath. Cut out any subfloor
that’s damaged and replace it with a fresh product. After you get all the
subfloor issues worked out, you can start focusing on tile repair.

mild detergent and clean water using a rag or chamois-type mop rather than a
sponge mop. These mops are best for cleaning tile because sponge mops tend to
push dirty water into the grout lines, making them harder to clean. Be sure to
change the water frequently while mopping; dirty water equals a cloudy floor.
Be on the look for tile stains: If you find
a discoloration, first try to determine what type of substance made the stain.
Use the appropriate cleaner for the stain for the most effective clean.
Watch for soap residue: If your tiles look
hazy even after cleaning, you might be dealing with soapy residue. Remove the
film with a nonabrasive all-purpose cleaner. You could also try a homemade
cleaner with mild acid (such as fresh lemon juice) on ceramic or porcelain
tiles (but never on stone tiles).
Dry the tiles: Don’t let your glazed tile
floors air-dry as the sitting water will form water spots. Take care of that by
drying the floor with a clean, lint-free cloth immediately after washing
Hardwood flooring vs Tile Planks that look
like hardwood. Pros and Cons.
I get a lot of calls and comments on my
blog asking me whether I think hardwood floors or porcelain planks (that look
like wood) are better? It’s a challenging question to answer both because “it
depends” and because there are pros and cons for each option.
Many prefer hardwood, but they are
concerned about scratching and water, especially if they are installing floors
in a kitchen or if they have a dog. The answer to what’s best can also be
shaped by your sub-floor (as this can impact cost) as well as your climate.
Now, I do want to preface this by
explaining that there are 2 main structures for hardwood flooring – Solid and
engineered hardwood. (You can read more about that in the linked article). For
the purposes of this article, I’m comparing solid hardwood vs porcelain planks.
Generally, solid hardwood flooring will last longer than engineered hardwood.
In general, if you are choosing between
engineered wood (on concrete slab) vs tile (on a concrete slab), I would
generally recommend tile over engineered wood, if all other things are equal
But if you are choosing between solid
hardwood and tile planks, in my opinion, they are both good options. Of course
each also has drawbacks, too and no floors are perfect. Only you can answer
which of these factors are most important to you and therefore which option is
better for you, your family and your home.
orthopaedist is the best-trained and most experienced doctor to properly
evaluate and treat musculoskeletal (bone, joint, or muscle) problems in a child
who is still growing. This includes newborn babies through teenagers.
What kind of
training do pediatric orthopaedic surgeons have?
orthopaedic surgeons choose to make the care of children the focus of their
medical practice. The unique nature of medical and surgical care of children is
learned from advanced training and experience in practice. Pediatric orthopaedic
surgeons are doctors who have the following education and training:
Graduated from an approved medical school (typically four years)
Graduated from an approved orthopaedic surgery residency program (typically five years)
Completed additional subspecialty training in pediatric orthopaedics and pediatric spinal deformity (typically one year)
What types of
problems do pediatric orthopaedic surgeons treat?
musculoskeletal problems are different from those of an adult. Because children
are still growing, the body’s response to injuries, infections, and deformities
may be quite different than what would be seen in a full-grown person.
is thought to be a problem in a child is just a variation of growth that will
resolve with time. A good example of this is intoeing in a toddler. Some of the
problems children have with their bones and joints that are due to growth do
not even occur in adults. In addition, the evaluation and treatment of a child
is usually quite different than for an adult — even for the same problem.
complex pediatric problems are best managed by a medical-surgical team
approach. Pediatric orthopaedic surgeons diagnose, treat, and manage children’s
musculoskeletal problems, such as:
Limb and spine deformities noted at birth or later in life (clubfoot, scoliosis, limb length differences)
Gait abnormalities (limping)
Bone or joint infections and tumors
Surgeons — The Best Care For Children
Children are not just small adults. They
cannot always say what is bothering them. They cannot always answer medical
questions, and are not always able to be patient and cooperative during a
medical examination. Pediatric orthopedic surgeons know how to examine and
treat children in a way that makes them relaxed
and cooperative. In addition, pediatric orthopedic surgeons often use
equipment specially designed for children. Most pediatric orthopedic surgeons’
offices are arranged and decorated with children in mind. This includes the
examination rooms and waiting rooms, which may have toys, videos, and reading
materials for children. This helps
create a comfortable and nonthreatening environment or your child.
If your pediatrician suggests that your
child see a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, you can be assured that he or she has
the widest range of treatment options, the most extensive and comprehensive
training, and the greatest expertise in dealing
with children and in treating children’s orthopedic disorders.
Children are NOT simply little adults.
What separates pediatric orthopedics from
adult orthopedics? Adults need hip replacements and children get fractures on
the playground, right? Well, there is a little more to the difference between the
two in the world of orthopedics. Even with the similar injuries adult and
children’s bodies often have a different response. Pediatric orthopedic
surgeons are specifically trained to evaluate and treat children.
Children’s Bone Anatomy
First of all, children’s bones are substantially different than adults. Infants
start off with a skeleton made of cartilage that matures into calcified bone
during the early years of development. In fact, during the first few weeks of
life, ultrasounds are frequently used to examine children’s bones instead of
x-rays. As children grow and develop, their bones have a softer structure than
adults. The softer characteristic allows their bones to fracture or break in
different ways than adult bones do. The biggest difference is the presence of
growth plates in children’s bones. This greatly changes the ways doctors treat
and care for injuries as well as bone and joint disorders in children.
Children’s growth plates are the center for bone growth. Growth plates consist
of developing cartilage tissue near the end of long bones. Bones grow from the
ends where the growth plates are located. Fractures can occur within and near
the growth plates. These require different types of treatment compared to
similar injuries in adults to avoid later problems with growth. At times the
growth of a bone near a fracture can even assist in the bone healing and
correcting the fracture which adds to differences in treating kids versus
adults. A pediatric orthopedic surgeon is specifically trained to care for and
understand these differences which results in better care and outcomes for the
Because children’s bones are different from adult bones, fractures need to be
treated differently. For instance, children’s bones heal quicker than adults.
This means that children need to be evaluated by a pediatric orthopedic surgeon
promptly to ensure that the fracture does not need to be manipulated. If a
child’s fracture heals improperly a surgery may be needed to correct it. Also,
children’s fractures do not typically need to be casted as long as adults due
to the faster healing potential. Not only are fractures different in
pediatrics, but also in sports injuries. For example, ACL tears in pediatrics
require special surgical techniques that are completely different from adult
ORTHOPEDIC DOCTORS CAN HELP
Pain is one of the most common reasons
people visit orthopedic doctors. These doctors specialize in the entire
musculoskeletal system, understanding the various types of joints and how they
work. This includes muscles, nerves, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments,
cartilage, and other connective tissue. There are many musculoskeletal
conditions and injuries that can cause pain, and often, orthopedic specialists
can help reduce or eliminate pain.
If you have pain, consider making an
appointment. Orthopedic doctors diagnose and treat many types of pain all over
the body, including:
shoulder, elbow, wrist or hand pain
ankle or foot pain
back or neck pain
Whether your pain is dull or sharp, chronic
or acute, an orthopedic doctor may be able to help.
What are the most painful
In general, research has found
that orthopedic surgeries, or those involving bones, are the most painful.
However, researchers also found that some
minor surgeries or those classed as keyhole or laparoscopic could also cause
significant pain. Regardless of the type of surgery, a person should speak to a
doctor about the procedure and a plan to manage any discomfort. It is also
helpful to relate any past experiences with pain medications, as some people
are more or less sensitive to these drugs.
Here, we outline what are considered to be
Three of the most painful surgeries:
1. Open surgery on the heel bone
If a person fractures their heel
bone, they may need surgery. An operation is not always necessary if the bone
has not moved too far out of place. To repair the fracture, a surgeon must cut
into the skin to get to the broken bone. They can then fix the bone back
together, using plates or screws. The skin around the heel is thin, and this
area does not have a lot of soft tissue. It is easy to damage the nerves around
the heel bone during surgery. Along with the attachment of screws to the bone,
this can make the operation and recovery painful.
2. Spinal fusion
The bones that make up the spine are known
as vertebrae. Scoliosis and degenerative disc disease are among the
medical problems that may affect the vertebrae. If movement between vertebrae
is causing pain, a doctor may recommend spinal fusion surgery. This process
connects two or more vertebrae to stop them moving against each other.
Sometimes, surgery will involve a bone
graft. This is when bone is taken from the hip and put into the spine to help
the vertebrae fuse together. Bone grafts may cause significant and even chronic
pain following surgery.
A myomectomy is an operation to
remove fibroids from the uterus. Although these muscle fibers are
almost always harmless, they can be a cause of infertility. The operation
is usually done using keyhole surgery. Open surgery may be needed if the
fibroids are large. An open surgery procedure is usually more painful than
keyhole surgery and will have a longer recovery time. During a myomectomy, a
surgeon will cut into the belly and remove the fibroids. Once they have removed
the fibroids, they will close the cut with stitches.

lights. At Provident Electric, our trusted electrical contractors are proud to

Top Benefits of Converting to LED Lighting
LED lighting technology offers residential
and commercial properties many benefits, from improving the look and feel of
your space to helping you save money and conserve valuable natural resources.
LED lights are known for their long
lifetime. These lights are designed to last for 100,000 hours of use or more,
which is 11 years of constant function or 22 years at half capacity. Plus,
frequent switching on and off or extreme temperature changes don’t affect the
lifetime of these lights.
LED lighting is the most efficient form of
lighting. These lights convert approximately 80% to 90% of incoming energy into
light, as opposed to incandescent bulbs, which are only 20% efficient.
LED lights emit little to no light in the
UV spectrum, making them ideal for all types of lighting purposes, including
illuminating products or artwork that may be sensitive to heat and UV light.
With LED, there’s no mercury involved,
making them a cleaner alternative to fluorescent and CFL lamps with overall
light quality that’s equal or superior to your traditional lighting products.
There’s no downside to choosing a safer, more environmentally friendly option!
The Best Places for Converting to Recessed
Recessed lighting provides full lighting
coverage with a minimal ceiling footprint, helping to keep a room’s sleek, open
look by hiding light fixtures within the ceiling itself. This form of lighting
is both popular and versatile.
Recessed lighting is ideal for workspaces,
whether you’re looking to install this form of lighting in a kitchen, a home
office, or a commercial office or meeting space. Lights can be placed at
intervals to provide clear illumination from overhead without the need for
visible light fixtures.
You can use a line of recessed lights to
highlight accent walls or special features, such as fireplaces, fountains, and
artwork. Recessed lights place these features in the spotlight without infringing
on the view from any angle.
Hallways are also an ideal location for
recessed lighting, which can be spaced to provide consistent illumination for
safety and convenience, whether at home or in a commercial workspace.
Getting your lighting just right can go a
long way towards making your house feel like a home. It has a huge impact on
the overall look and feel of any given room and is one of the easiest ways that
you can set a certain mood so use lights to create an ambience in your home –
maybe a comforting, warm glow or a clear and cold white light to work under?

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR PROPERLY LIGHTING YOUR
Properly lighting a work of art can make
all the difference in the world when it comes to displaying it. The painting
that moved you to the tears in the gallery might not have the same effect if
it’s always bathed in shadow or blasted with sunlight
Consider Lighting and Longevity
The main concern in choosing the proper
lighting is determining what conditions will best preserve the artwork. Aesthetic
preferences should be a secondary consideration
Aggressive lighting choices can often cause
heat and light damage, often resulting in permanent color distortion and
brittleness. Follow these rules to ensure the longevity of your collection:
Avoid displaying artwork in direct
sunlight. Ultraviolet light and infrared radiation can cause fading.
Don’t allow light to directly face artwork.
This will protect your artwork against heat damage.
Avoid fluorescent lighting. It emits a high
level of ultraviolet energy, which accelerates color fading and distorts the
color of the artwork
Pay Attention to Different Types of
In general, lighting for artwork should be
three times brighter than the rest of the room’s lighting. This can be achieved
by using the appropriate intensity or ambiance.
To ensure the artwork’s colors are
portrayed accurately, seek out high CRI (Color Rendering Index) percentages in
your lights. The closer they are to 100 percent, the more vibrant the colors
will appear. Consider the following options when lighting artwork.
LED: LEDs boast a long lifespan and give
off little ultraviolet radiation and heat. They are a good option if there is
little space available between the art and the light source. They are available
in warm and cool color temperatures.
Halogen: Halogen lights cast a cooler tone
but generate higher levels of heat. Keep them at a safe distance from the
artwork and consider UV filters.
Incandescent: Incandescent lights cast a
comforting warm glow. That being said, traditional incandescent lighting should
be avoided since it displays too much warm light. They are also comparatively
inefficient when compared to LEDs
LIGHTING TIPS FROM PROS
The most aesthetically pleasing and
effective way to light a room is to have three layers: overall, task and
Overall lighting is the main illumination
in a room. This will be the light above the main work or living space. The
overall light could be from a chandelier, multiple pendants, recessed lights, a
ceiling fan with a light, or some other main light source.
Task lighting is the light needed for
specific tasks such as cooking, reading, applying make-up, etc. Examples of
task lighting could be portable lamps, sconces next to a dressing area, and
recessed lights or pendants directly over a work area.
Accent lighting could be toe-kick or
in-cabinet lights, cove lighting, or small portable lamps
Depending on where and how some fixtures
are used, they could be any type of lighting. For example, pendants might be
considered overall lighting or task lighting, even accent if small and in a
corner. The important thing is to layer the lighting so that appropriate
illumination can be achieved for the activity taking place.
In most applications where pendants are
placed above islands, it is more common to place the pendants in a symmetrical
configuration centered directly on both the long and short sides. However, this
is ultimately a personal decision that is dependent on your priorities and on
the visual relationship of the pendants to the space.
If the island is going to be used for
reading or working, then placing the pendants closer to the bar stools will be
useful. However, if persons seated at the island will be there mostly for
eating and conversation, it will be less important to move the pendants closer
to the seating.

The importance of Electrical Maintenance in
Electrical maintenance can often be viewed
as an annoyance and an unnecessary expense for commercial and industrial
properties. However, skipping this important step or aiming only for the bare
minimum is penny-wise, pound-foolish. What are the risks of poor or
insufficient electrical maintenance in commercial buildings?
Commercial and industrial electrical
installations are naturally complex – and the more complex a system, the more
likely any one component can be a cause of failure. One small failure can have
a ripple effect on the rest of your system, causing damage to many further
Equipment breakdown, power surges and power

your business against future problems.

Electrical hazards are one of the highest
causes of fire in the developed world – fires which have the potential to cause
terrible damage to your stock, plant, buildings and most importantly, your
personnel and customers. Staff working with electrical equipment are also at
risk from poor maintenance practices
What Is A Commercial Electrical System?
When it comes to commercial and residential
electrical systems, they couldn’t be more different. From the set up to the way
each system runs, they require a certain level of expertise and care to run
For example, commercial electrical systems
are complex when it comes to the components needed to power a commercial
building. This means they require more attention and regular maintenance that
untrained personnel cannot handle.
Because these are complex systems they
require a highly trained professional electrician that can conduct these tasks
safely and correctly.
So What Do You Need To Know About
Commercial Electrical Systems?
Depending on the size of the commercial
property, the building’s electrical system makes use of a larger electrical
capacity to function. Which means that having a proper installation is
essential to keeping it stable.
To power a commercial building, an
organized electrical system is required. This establishes that the electricity
is running smoothly through the entire complex. It also ensures that the
building is free of electrical hazards and does not compromise anyone’s safety.
Commercial Electrical Services for
When it comes to hiring a company to help with commercial electrical services, you want the best company for the job. With so many companies, how do you decide who to hire? We’re here to help with a checklist of what to look out for when hiring a commercial electrical company.
What are Commercial Electrical Services?
Commercial electrical services refer to any
installations or upgrades in a commercial area such as office building,
apartment complex, school, or hospital that involve electricity. This includes
the installation of safety and security systems (such as cameras and security
codes for your protection), lighting (like motion, exterior, energy-saving and
parking), miscellaneous (intercoms, fire alarms and smoke detectors), rewiring,
and other electrical upgrades
Why is it Better to Choose One Company?
A full-service company can offer a
consistent service for all your commercial electrical needs. It’s better to
hire one company that can do everything rather than hiring several do to the
work. If you can get all the services done by one company, it can save you time
and money. By using a full-service company, you are able to build up trust and
communication with the electrician(s).
What’s The Best Way To Choose A Company For
Commercial Electrical Services?
A quick Internet search can provide results on local companies in your area. It is important to remember that law requires all electrical companies or electricians to have a valid license. Pay attention to the reviews of the company and speak to fellow business owners – recommendations from people you trust can help with narrowing down your list.
Once you’ve drawn up your shortlist, it’s
time to schedule meetings with the companies. Coming with a clear outline of
what you need done can help to make the process easier. The company can
determine if they are capable of providing what you want within the constraints
of your time frame and estimated budget.

event or general session, then you have the most important role and your first
task should be to hire a team that can get the job done – and that starts with
a dependable Event Planner! Most EPs have a portfolio of events they have
managed, ranging in scale and budget, so they have already learned the lessons
and have best practice in place to help things run smoothly.
An experienced Event Planner already has a list of vetted vendor partners and labor teams needed to pull in to the get the job done. They will have local connections they can negotiate with and some EPs, have in-house capabilities to design, engineer and build any display and exhibit materials and print graphics needed to carry out your theme with professional flare and quality. This gives the EP has more control of costs, timelines and quality which only benefits you.
An experienced EP will actually help you
save money, mainly because of reason #1 and #2 above. Managing an event budget,
and sticking to it, is part of their process and is what they do best. They can
help guide you in the early planning stages, matching your wish list to
solutions that fit the budget. They generally know what costs what and will
prioritize what is most important, and areas where corners can be cut.
When the day of the event comes, you should
be able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. When you have an Event
Planner on your team, they will monitor everything and handle any emergency
situations along the way. Their priority is to make sure you guests have an
experience they will remember, and make you look like a rock star! At the end
of the day you will be able to relish in all the compliments vs being tired for
running around behind the scenes.
Silverfish have been appropriately named as
their entire body is covered in silver scales. Silverfish measure between ½ to
¾ of an inch in length and their body is teardrop-shaped
Are silverfish dangerous?
Silverfish do not pose health risks, but
they can become an extreme nuisance as they may contaminate food, stain
clothing, and damage paper goods.
Why do I have a silverfish problem?
Silverfish are found all across the United
States. Typically these insects are spotted in bathrooms, attics, crawl spaces
or basements because of the high humidity these spaces offer. Their diet
usually consists of anything that contains starch or polysaccharides
What to Expect After Treatment
Silverfish are a primitive insect that thrive
in moist environments such as damp crawlspaces, around central air conditioning
duct work or sweating pipes. They occur naturally outdoors and are most
commonly sighted when the seasons change. Your silverfish treatment includes
baits, dusts and sprays, each effecting silverfish differently. Because
silverfish can survive many generations in a very small space, it may take
additional treatments to eliminate your problem.
To Help Eliminate Them
Fix any leaks, whether water is coming in
from the outside, plumbing, cracks in tile work or air conditioner problems,
silverfish need moisture to survive. Use dehumidifiers in basements or even
sealed crawlspaces to reduce moisture.
Trim bushes, trees and other vegetation so
that it is at least 6 inches from the house. Never allow mulch to reach the
level of your siding. Keep stored items away from your foundation. Keep
cardboard, paper, and any other material that can get moldy up off concrete
basement and garage floors; preferably away from walls.
As much as possible seal around any pipe
and vent penetrations, both inside and outside your home. Consider replacing
carpeting that has been wet, and may have gotten moldy.
Tell your technician exactly where you saw
any silverfish that appear two weeks after your initial treatment.
SILVERFISH AND FIREBRATS
Silverfish and firebrats damage paper such
as wallpaper and books and are a common nuisance pest in larders, kitchens and
bathrooms. They prefer warm, dark, damp areas.
Identify the problem
Silverfish and firebrats are insects of a
primitive type; flat, wingless, grey in colour with three tail like appendages
at the end of the abdomen. Tey are often referred to as bristletails. Firebrats
tend to be a mottled gray/brown color with patches of dark gray and lighter
silver over the upper surface of the body. Silverfish tend to be uniformly gray
or silver in color.
Silverfish and firebrats are nocturnal and
very active at night. They run rapidly and their style of movement resembles
that of a swimming fish, hence the name silverfish
To get rid of silverfish and firebrats
follow these simple steps:
Spray > Treat areas with NO Bugs Indoor
or NO Bugs Super to control silverfish for several months. Pay particular
attention to places you have seen silverfish and warm dark areas such as under
sink units, below baths, roof voids, behind skirting, behind fridges and
Fumigate > For treatment of roof voids
or other difficult to spray areas, NO Bugs Super Bug Bomb or NO Bugs Super
Fumigator fumigators will knock down the insects in these areas.
Dry > Drying out the areas with improved
ventilation and/or use of a dehumidifier will also be of benefit.
They prefer warm damp conditions and can be
found in kitchens, bathrooms, cylinder cupboards and libraries. There are
similar insects known as firebrats and bristle tails that have the same shape
but are a darker brown colour. Firebrats have similar habits to silverfish.
Silverfish are no doubt a creepy insect to
have in and around your home. They like to eat paper items such as old books as
well as infest cereals and food stores. They’re a big nuisance for most of us
to say the least.
What are silverfish?
Silverfish are a small, silver to gunmetal
colored insect with six legs. They’re called silverfish because of both their
appearance as well as their movements. Silverfish are very fast runners but
they don’t fly. Adults range from 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch in length and have a
teardrop shaped body that tapers from head to tail.
They’re thought to be one of the oldest
insects on earth with many believing they were around almost a hundred million
years before dinosaurs. Silverfish are most active at night and prefer to hide
in cracks and small crevices during the day. Many people discover silverfish
after picking up an old book or newspaper and finding a silverfish darting out.
Upon further investigation, they will often notice many more silverfish where
that one came from
Are silverfish harmful?
Fortunately, silverfish are not known to
bite, sting, or spread any diseases. This is great news for many homeowners
since they may be a nuisance but at least they’re not dangerous. However,
silverfish do molt skins throughout their entire life which can raise histamine
levels in your home and trigger those with allergies. Silverfish can also
damage your belongings since they enjoy feeding on old paper items such as
those found in photo albums, old newspapers, and old books. Silverfish have
also been known to eat everything from wallpaper to clothing.
Signs of silverfish infestations
Since silverfish are nocturnal and very
fast-moving, it’s not common to see them until the infestation is severe.
However, you can keep an eye out for the signs of a silverfish infestation.
These signs include feeding marks which may be holes in paper items or cereal
boxes, frayed edges, or etchings on the surface of these items. You may also
find yellowish stains, molted skins which resemble scales, or feces which
resemble black pepper pellets.
How To Get Rid Of Silverfish
Let’s talk about how to get rid of
silverfish. As with all home pests, the first step is to determine exactly what
pest is bugging you. So, let’s make sure you are dealing with a silverfish
infestation. Silverfish are small wingless, elongated insects that are
silvery-metallic or slightly gray-brownish in color. They have long antennae
and elongated bodies with silvery metallic scales. This pest is commonly found
in the home, preferring to eat starches, papers and glues.
Silverfish are about ¾ to ½ inch long, with
elongated bodies that tend to taper from head to tail. They have no wings but
can run very fast, prefer to hide in the darkness during the day, and are
attracted to areas of high humidity. Although not physically dangerous to
humans, silverfish can cause a lot of damage to our homes and personal
Silverfish can live a year without food but
they cannot live without moisture. These insects require high humidity to
thrive, preferring levels of 75% to 95%. A silverfish infestation can
contaminate foods and damage paper goods like wallpaper and books. Due to the
fact that these creatures are nocturnal and work at night, they can do a lot of
damage before a homeowner becomes aware of their presence.
When describing silverfish, many people say
they look and move similar to a centipede but with a bit of a sideways wiggle.
Actually, they are not centipedes at all and they can move much quicker.
Silverfish have tapering elongated bodies with silvery metallic scales. They move
with a bit of a wiggle, similar to a fish. Thus, the name silverfish is more
Silverfish Can Do A Lot Of Damage
This is a pest that does not multiply as
quickly as cockroaches, or some other pests, yet an unknown and untreated
infestation of silverfish can do a lot of damage in a short time. These insects
can quickly, and easily, destroy that family scrapbook you so carefully tucked
in the back of the closet years ago before you realize they are even there!
After graduating from my pain management
fellowship at NYU in 2007, I wrestled with the idea of going into a full-time
pain practice or anesthesiology/pain management hybrid position.
After going on multiple job interviews I
realized that I did not want to be a full-time anesthesiologist for the rest of
my career. So, I wound up taking a
position in the anesthesiology department at Maimonides Medical Center. I opted for this position, as I was offered
the chance to build a pain practice from scratch.
I started with one afternoon per week in
the pain office and otherwise functioned as a full-time anesthesiologist. I took a call like everyone else. In fact, my first call was on my birthday in
the same OB ward where I was born. My
parents even kept the anesthesia bill from 1976. They were charged $88.
Anyway, I did it all. Peds (which I dreaded), ruptured AAA repairs,
ECT, endoscopy, all while building a pain practice and seeing pain consults
between, before and after my OR cases.
With the help of my chairman, vice-chairman, and the orthopedics dept.,
I had the opportunity to build a regional anesthesia service, test out Onc Q
pumps, Exparel, learn TAP blocks, Quadratus Lumborum Blocks and more.
The first week of my attending job
Money is not how I measure success. Don’t
get me wrong, money is quite important, but it’s not everything. I learned this
during my first week as an anesthesiology attending. We were short-staffed and I had to take
extra- call, then stay late working the post-call day. This went on while having an Anesthesiology
Oral Examination and Pain Managment Board Certification Exam looming in the
back of my head. In addition, I had a
1-year old that was allergic to sleep and was coming out of a pain fellowship
in which I did not administer anesthesia to anyone for a full year. Did I mention that all 3 of us lived in
a studio apartment?
HOW TO CHOOSE A PAIN MANAGEMENT
When it comes to musculoskeletal pain,
professional care can replace pain medication as your first line of defense.
Hands-on healthcare professionals such as physical therapists, chiropractors,
occupational therapists, massage therapists and athletic trainers are the experts
in the assessment, correction and prevention of musculoskeletal dysfunction and
the treatment of acute and chronic pain. Not only do they have the knowledge to
guide you through the full range of options for muscle and joint pain relief
and the associated risks and side effects, but they have access to the best,
professional-grade products to complement their care. In fact, research shows
working with hands-on healthcare professionals can result in better outcomes
for musculoskeletal pain
PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR PAIN
According to the American Physical Therapy
Association (APTA), physical therapists are “highly-educated, licensed health
care professionals who can help patients reduce pain and improve or restore
mobility – in many cases without expensive surgery and often reducing the need
for long-term use of prescription medications and their side effects.”

CHIROPRACTIC FOR PAIN RELIEF
According to the American Chiropractic
Association (ACA), chiropractic is “a healthcare profession that focuses on
disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects
of these disorders on general health.” Furthermore, the ACA promotes that
chiropractors “practice a hands-on, drug-free approach to health care that
includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment.”
How to Choose the Safest Over-the-Counter
Painkiller for Older Adults
If your mother has been complaining, you’ll
want to make sure she gets a careful evaluation from her doctor. After all,
frequent pain can be the sign of an important underlying health problem that
needs attention. You’re also more likely to help your mom reduce her pains if
you can help her doctors identify the underlying causes of her pain.
That said, it’s a good idea to ask what
over-the-counter analgesics are safest for older people. That’s because
improper use of OTC painkillers is actually a major cause of harm to older
What’s the safest OTC painkiller for an
For most older adults, the safest oral OTC
painkiller for daily or frequent use is acetaminophen (brand name Tylenol),
provided you are careful to not exceed a total dose of 3,000mg per day.
It is processed by the liver and in high
doses can cause serious — sometimes even life-threatening — liver injury. So if
an older person has a history of alcohol abuse or chronic liver disease, then
an even lower daily limit will be needed, and I would strongly advise you to
talk to a doctor about what daily limit might be suitable.
The tricky thing with acetaminophen is that
it’s actually included in lots of different over-the-counter medications (e.g.
Nyquil, Theraflu) and prescription medications (e.g. Percocet). So people can
easily end up taking more daily acetaminophen than they realize. This can
indeed be dangerous; research suggests that 40% of acetaminophen overdoses
cases are accidental.
Tips to control patient pain
A number of studies and surveys on pain
management have all come to the same conclusion: Despite strides in therapies
to ease pain, too many inpatients experience significant levels of continuous
pain during the course of their treatment. A recent report from the World
Health Organization, for example, found that at least 25% of all cancer
patients who die in a hospital die without adequate pain relief.
The good news is that several other studies
have shown that physicians can manage pain effectively in most patients by
using some relatively simple strategies. Of particular interest to inpatient
physicians, researchers say that pain management plays a critical role in the
At the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in
Albuquerque, hospitalists follow an institution-wide pain management model that
relies on two basic elements: regular assessments of patient pain and ongoing
adjustments to reflect patient input.
Every patient room, for example, has a pain
intensity chart with both a numeric scale and a color scale. Physicians
re-assess the patients on an ongoing basis, and they respond immediately to any
change in the level of pain
To determine what kind of pain management
is appropriate, you need to start with an assessment. A popular tool is an
intensity scale that asks patients to rate pain from 0 to 10. Pictorial scales
are particularly good for patients with low literacy levels.
Choosing The Right Shoes For Back Pain
Back pain is one of the most common
ailments in the United States and affects eight out of 10 people at some point
throughout their life. Back pain might be a small sharp pain or a dull ache
that persists all day. Many different factors can cause back pain from poor
posture to lack of exercise. However, sometimes back pain is linked to sore
feet and uncomfortable shoes.
If your feet are causing or contributing to
back pain, a change in shoes might make a huge difference. The right pair of
shoes can provide the support you need for your back while you’re at work, at
the gym or running errands. The wrong pair can cause or exacerbate back pain
How do you know which shoes are best for
back pain relief? In this post, we will show you how to pick the best shoes for
back pain and the factors you need to consider when shopping for new shoes.
Once you have the right shoes for your feet, you may notice reduced back pain
Why Shoes Are Important For Back Pain
Your feet provide the base for the rest of
your body. When you wear uncomfortable shoes, they create a chain reaction on
your ankles, knees, hips and ultimately, your back. Your feet need adequate
support to prevent pain while you stand, walk or run. Without proper support,
you might adjust your gait or posture and set your spine out of alignment to
compensate for the lack of support in your shoes. You also need shoes that
absorb impact as your foot hits the ground so that other parts of your body do
not have to bear the force of the impact.
Overall, a good pair of shoes improves and
stabilizes the position of your feet, which, in turn, improves your gait and posture.
Good posture helps prevent muscle strain and pain in the back because it keeps
everything in correct alignment and allows muscles, bones and joints to work
